Baroni is opening a cornerstone store as Plaza, a place of inspiration, with home and personal accessories, in Baroni's hometown of Arcata, California.Sarah Baroni, creator and designer of Baroni jewelry, www.baronidesigns.com, believes in giving back to and supporting the local community. With this in mind, Baroni will be taking over the former Arcata Plaza Design space and will re-open the store with a new name, Plaza, in May, 2012.
“Like so many of us, I was really sad when I heard that Plaza Design was closing,” says Sarah. “To me, Plaza Design has been such a cornerstone of the Arcata Plaza. We really wanted to keep the Arcata plaza local and vibrant, and this seemed like a perfect opportunity. Our idea is to keep the offerings similar, but with a slightly different twist. We’re so excited to bring vitality back to this area!”
The name Plaza was chosen to honor the legacy of Plaza Design as well as to symbolize what Baroni plans to create: a gathering place and center of the community that is also a sanctuary of home furnishings and décor, personal accessories, jewelry, local artisans such as Fire and Light, and unusual gifts and cards.
The new store will open with a gigantic “Fresh Start Inventory Clearance Event”, held April 13-16, 2012 coinciding with Arts! Arcata on Friday night. Sale event hours will be Friday, 10am to 9pm, Saturday, 10am to 6pm, Sunday 11am to 4pm and Monday, 10am to 4pm. Plaza will then close again for an interim for renovation and redesign for a May reopening.
